Looking for mostly catfish but while I am waiting for bites gonna try jigging for crappie. I will be all over the marina around the docks, don't have a fish finder or depth gauge. What color jigs should I use and how deep should I be fishing?

There will be a pole (horitontal) that will be over your head. Put you rod tip that high, and then drop your jig to the water level. Engage your reel and drop jig down. That would be pole high. Personally I would fish in shady areas about 5-6ft deep. Key is the shade and brush. Also fish near vertical poles that hold the marina in place. If you so ropes or wire hanging in the corner of slips those are good places...

You will have a whole lot better luck with minnows starting out around 6' deep reeling up slowly to 4' deep. Guaranteed producer right now.

We keep a boat in the dry storage, I am gonna use the pass and try out a few places. I have caught quite a bunch right behind charlie's I may be there for a little bit otherwise I will be around all over.

Did not do well at all! No bites for crappie. Caught a bunch of bluegill because I was bored though.

Cowboy, you obviously did not take my advise and use minnows 4'-6' down because that recipe is automatic. I guarantee you!
