They are known for being good around rocks but are also used to drag the bottom of areas with little or no grass or extremely heavy timber. Paired up with braid or floro you can feel the botom extremely well and learn by feel what type of bottom you are fishing. With practice you can get a feel for gravel, clay, hard or soft bottoms and no when you come into contact with cover such as brush, tree roots, chunk rock etc. The design of the head also imparts a rocking motion to the bait as its dragged along making the skirt and trailer shake and wave. It is versatile enough that you can also rip, hop, or stroke it in open water as well as swim it. I like dragging them until I come into contact with cover and just shaking or twiching and hopping it.
