Went to Lavon for 3 hours today and picked up a couple stout fish, they aren't very long but they are heavy. I don't know what it is but lately ive just been catching some short fat heavy fish. If anybody would like to guesstimate the weight of these fish for me it would be appreciated since i dont have a sling and scale. Which reminds me does anyone have a spare sling and scale they might want to sell?

Rods ready to spring in to action

First fish, my rig must have been spot on because there was no warning before he made a hard run

Second fish

Last fish came right as i was putting up

Yea Jesse it always happens that way right as you put up the turn on, cant complain too much though as long as they bite.

I dont know whats up with the blood every once in a while i catch one thats a bleeder, i think it has something to with a hook being stuck in their mouth... Im pretty sure it will heal though the carp was healthy otherwise and swam away strong.

Nice fish man.

I agree with Jesse, the second fish (which looks like the biggest) is a solid 12, maybe more.

Every once in a while I get a bleeder too. They never seem to be any worse for wear though when released.

It looks like your hooking them in the corner of the mouth
They bleed more there..bottum lip is much better

I catch some carp sometimes that bleed from the gills..thats stress.(shock). not much you can do about that problem

Nice fish josh and lovon looks great..any big fish reports from there?

I fished Lavon a lot when I was living in Allen. My PB from there is about 15 lbs from Highland Park. Very cool fish Josh!

5.8 is the current record......soooooo looks like you had an unofficial record way to go!!! i used to fish lavon alot about 15 years ago @ east fork marina and caught carp up to 20 lbs so there is some pretty good sized carp all around that lake smile
