As anyone fishing the lake right now will tell you the grass in Four Fingers is where a lot of fish are at. BUT the size is just not there. You will catch some good 1-2 pounders but fish in the 6 pound range are hard to come by.

BUT I have not fished there in a week. So, the cooler weather might have changed the pattern. Choke changes everyday!

The bigger fish are roaming the break-lines around 20 feet. Your gonna have to do some searching if you want to catch those fish off the break-lines. When I say break-lines I mean the creek banks and bends. The main creek is a good place for bigger fish but theres a lot of water to try and if the wind is blowing good luck fishing the open water in that lake.

Your best bet is to stick with the grass!

Baits of choice are:

8-10 foot diving cranks in the sexy-shad color thrown right at the grass and bounced them off everything-"make some noise"

White spinnerbaits thrown right in the grass edge.

Frogs in the morning-although I can't seem to get hooked doing this yet.

Worms punched through the grass mat in the afternoon.

Try top waters in the morning if nothing switch to a crank and or spinnerbait. After the sun comes up and it warms up switch to a worm right in the grass.

Good luck!

BTW-got to Academy and get a good map with GPS grid for like $10!

Put in at Calliham due to the wind and the fishing was worse than the wind. I tried crankbaits, rattletraps, worms, sinkos, lizzards, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, skitterwalks, hope I didn't forget anything but it doesn't matter cause nothing worked. I don't know if this front gave the fish a case of the lockjaw or what? Sorry I could not be more helpful. I did not try weightless sinkos like Stumpjumper said in his post....maybe I should have.

i wnet to choke today and good numbers but not reAlly any size. Started out at south shore and fished 4 fingers in the grass. We started fishing at about 345pm with soft plastics and ended the day with crankbaits killed them with that. I will make a post on the more specifics
