Had a bass club tournament out there a couple weekends ago and fishing who pretty tough for most. Did really well with a Spro frog over thick grass mats. Caught a few on lipless crankbaits. Me and my partner were lucky cause we stumbled on some schoolers. We saw the birds working and there were 4-7lbers schooling! We stayed there and they schooled for about 3 hours! Crazy thing was is you could throw a lipless crankbait, crankbait, spinnerbait into these schools of HUGE fish and they wouldnt take it at all but we than figured it out. Throw the smallest swimbait you have, i'm talking like 1/8oz storm swim shads, lil fishies, something really small and hold on! Good luck!

Last weekend, two of us boated 21 in 1-3ft in and around grass on
small white spinnerbaits. All but one were 16" +.

Did not target the schoolers.

Just hang around the dam throwing jigs and keep a swimbait tied for the schooling fish.

I took a buddy with me down there last weekend and my best 5 would have been ~20 lbs. and his best 5 would have been ~25 lbs.

I haven't fished Bastrop a whole lot, but I haven't had a bad day out there yet.
It is one of my favorite lakes......

Chart/White SB, T-Rigged plastics around the grass. Weightless plastics in the grass. Lipless cranks in the deep water. The flats around the outlet is good.
