You might have luck by finding a shallow gravelly area and throwing your net there first thing in the morning.

Shad can be found at lighted boat ramps before dawn.

Go to the boat ramp on the south side of 180 by the bridge. If there are'nt shad there try around the pilings of the bridge. Hubbard Creek is a great catfish lake. Lots of good stumpy areas and not a ton of catfishing pressure. I hunt about 7 miles from the lake and the local guys around there keep their freezers full of good cats off that lake.

Certainly wouldn't hurt anything to try, but I wouldn't bet on it. I bet you could get a few throwing near the boat ramps whenever you get there. Good luck!

I shudder to think it, but wally world sells preserved shad if you want to get there with bait instead of relying on catching it. Run you about 5 bucks. Not worth it if you can catch your own, but worth it if you can't.

Don't bother. Use stink bait if you can't catch fresh shad.
