I went to lake stillhouse this past weekend. I ended up going up the river a ways and I saw an alligator and he was big too. Im thinking he was like 6ft. Has anybody else seen one in stillhouse?

No, but that is not the only one. A client of mine saw a 10 footer this spring. There have been a few through the years.

heck,,there've been gators up the river from cedar gap all the way up to and past gravel crossing for years,,I've had many a trotline robbed by 'em.5-6 footers are common to me up around there.

Yes sir I seen them several years ago and also seen them on the cow house

ok well ive been up the river a few times and didnt figure that there were any gators up there by the way the rest of the lake looks. I thought that it could have been turned loose there by someone. But i guess it pretty common for them to be seen there

Yep, I go kayaking there and see many other kayakers as well. I have yet to see one but hear about them all of the time.

I wouldn't be kayakin there anymore!

Just remember, the one you saw didn't get there by traveling overland and he ain't confined to the river!

Yes, y'all are right on all accounts. A local vet. has a picture of a 7'er on a nest that was on his river frontage land. They have been there for years and I have known they were there. In my younger days I swam in the river now I just wade fish. No big issue just check shallow water with a stick before entering.

Shoot, they trapped a 6' gator at a little flood control lake in Sherman this past spring. You would think it gets too cold in the winter here in North Texas for an alligator to stay.
