I dont own a diesel and hope someday to be so lucky and have one. Anyway, when I pull up next to a diesel truck at a stop light, I roll down the window to hear the diesel engine idling. My wife asked me why I do that and I couldnt give a reason other than I enjoy the sound.

So what is it that attracts us to the SOUND of a Diesel motor and sound of the turbo whine???

You know those CD's they make of "The sounds of nature" to help people relax? Well, what about making some that have various sounds like diesel motors idling with the occassional sound of a turbo whine...or even the sounds of Harley's idling or on a roll. Or even a drag strip car idling before the take off.

I love the smell of diesel smoke...my wife thinks I'm crazy

I drove a chipped dodge diesel for a while. Loved the sound idling or being hammered on. The whine of the turbo was addictive. I was driving that thing like I was 17 again. Real easy to burn the tires off and get tickets though.

Some people get the attraction to the sound and some don't. I don't know how to explain it though.

I like a diesel or a hot rod.
