Anyone know of any good pop-up rigs that have had some success on? I made some pop-ups and am wanting to start experimenting with catching fish on them, but there are some that look like they would work and some that look a little..... eccentric.

Dustin i saw this and actually tied some up and i must say im not a fan of stiff mono hook links. I ran the hook link over my fingers and it was about a 50/50 hook up ratio, half the time the hook wouldnt turn and hook up.

You can also use a standerd hair rig with a swan shot 1 inch from the hook to keep it all down
Very basic..and it works great
And dont forget the snowman rig..again very basic and a very good catcher

I've caught fish on a 12" hooklink popped all the way up quite a few times. But most of my pop up fishing is a snowman popped up over a bed of method

Scott you have NO idea how many fish has been caught with a simple snowman rig
I think MORE then with a simple boilie hair rig...not a lot of people talk about this
But if you see the catching reports about the real big fish..its a lot on the snowman

Sort of off topic but it hasn't been brought up in awhile but those boilies you just made and posted about stick on in the microwave for like 20 seconds or so instant pop-up

i use pieces of foam bobbers to make my maize float about 6inches off the bottom . i have caught like that but i have better luck just letting my maize sit at the bottom without the foam

yeah, human response is better than a web search any day.

I know a ton of the questions around here could be googled or searched but its fun to ask a group of people bc you get different opinions and point of views.

This has definitely made the boilie think for me alot easier though
