I got hooked on catfishing after an early spring trip with Jackie on Cedar Creek. I fish on Tawakoni regularly but have had limited success with the catfish. I have heard the place to fish is "the slabs" Would anyone care to share with me the location of this famed spot? Any help or any other hot spots is appreciated. I would gladly share any information with my recent successful sandbass/hybrid trips. Thanks again.

I don't know the names of the different places out there but you could try shallow flooded timber. I usually do allright no matter what lake in those kinds of areas. I would highly recommend using braided line for the main line and 50lb mono leader though in timber, or you'll get your heart broke. bang Don't ask me how I know. crazy

The slabs are just west of ice point. Head up caddo creek and look to the right, they will be on the backside of ice point, it would be the northeast side if you are heading up into that cove. Be careful there as right now they are mostly underwater and can wreak havoc on your boat.

hey bal4...
the wife and I do not spend an awful lot of time catfishing with rod and reels but...
if you launch at wind point that timber north of wind point is good- timber just north and slightly west of the greenville pump station is good- the timber just south of the 2 mile bridge is good
and the timber up the caddo inlet is good as well
the main lake humps down by the dam, especially north of the white stripe is good
