I went to the new Academy store that opened in out town, a found some beautiful thread that is used for rod winding. They have it in lots of colors, and they are mettalic. The picture does this thread NO justice. And when ythe clearcoat is put over the thread it really pops. I dont tie my own jigs yet, what ive been doing is (doctoring up ), cheap plain jigs. I will sometimes get the solid colors like white or chartreuse, and tie some tinsel on it, or some accent color. The thread is made by GUDEBROD, if you want to look it up.

While metallic threads are really beautiful, you have to remember, they do not have a strong core, so you do not have the strength, that comes with regular rodwrapping thread..

If you really want some outstanding thread check out FishHawk..the "Kaleidoscope" will knock your eyes out !!..
