I would bet a dollar to a donut it's the fuel pump. I had the same issue with a 96 suburban. That thing needs 52 PSI in the fuel system to activate the ignition. Mine would work fine if it had only been sitting for a couple of hours. Any longer and the pressure would bleed down. After several tries to crank it would finally get enough pressure to fire up. Don't go cheap, get the Delco unit or you'll be changing it again soon.
