ok so Im not looking for a honey hole.. just a place to take this girl fishing because I promised her I would help her catch something since she hasnt caught something since she was 4! Ive been looking at local ponds (Chisholm, Keller town hall etc.) around me but as expected they are all extremely over fished and the place Ive caught catfish out the wazoo is now overrun by weeds and completely inaccessible to me as a bank fisherman. crying

I know how to catch the fish, but Im just looking for help or tips as to where I could take her. Im pretty sure we will mainly go for Bluegill, Sunfish, Bass, etc.

she lives in Azle so looking for either around Ft Worth and surrounding suburbs or Azle and anywhere in between. We both go to TCC NW so marine creek is right beside it and see boats there all the time but never seen anyone pulling anything into the boats or hooking up with anything.

Any and ALL help will be greatly appreciated.

I just came back from the Trinity River at I30 & University DR. I caught about 8 Bluegill/Sunfish 1 Bass and a Catfish, all on lures.
Check out the Fort Worth thread.

I've been fishing at Marine Creek but haven't had much luck there yet. It's a good place to fish, once you figure it out.

Well, I fish Marine all the time and I always catch someting...Funny thing happend to me at Marine the other day. I was fishing for bass and I did catch two small ones in about an hr. but I did manage to hang into and land a nice BaitCaster rod and reel "I guess someone lost it or a big catfish pulled it in "...LOL..anyways, try fishing behind the school parking lot on the dam side..If u walk down to the water u well see a sq. chain link fence..Fish behind it...There I have caught all kind of fish..Catfish,Bass,Sandbass, and crapie..ooo and yes sunfish or perch too....good luck........Theres also a nice pond behind Sunny Brian BBQ off Hwy 35....Try there also....

If you are open to catching carp or smallmouth buffalo, there are people nearly every weekend fishing on Marine Creek Lake. Check out the thread(s) on Carp / Rough Fish. And, hold onto your rods, or they might be pulled into the water! lol.

Wilshire park in Hurst is loaded with perch and is not overly fished. You will have to fish from the fishing dock because of all the moss. But to take a young kid fishing, that would be a good place for alot of perch action.
