I'm pretty sure you'd be breaking the law if you dumped em' in the lake.

Sweet corn on a small hook works great, but once you catch a few you might want to keep them in there. Carp are a lot of fun to catch they might just surprise you.

haha i figured someone would say that pretty quick, what size hook do you usually use? you just let the little kernel float there by the shore or do you need to throw a weight on it and cast it out?

As far as I know transporting a fish from one body of water to another is illegal.

Bread or sweet corn would be the easiest bait I think. Mold about half a piece of bread (without the crust) around a #4 or #2 hook, try to leave the hook point exposed and cast it out with no weight. Make sure to open the bail of your reel or loosen your drag if you're not gonna be holding the rod as even a small carp can make off with your rod with no problem.

You'll probably get tons of little pecky bites from bluegill and/or turtles so wait until you get a run (the line moves continuously for a couple of seconds) then set the hook and hold on!

Though be advised that even a turtle can produce a bona fide run (especially those cursed softshells), so you'll likely catch a few of them too. You'll also get bullhead and channel cats if any are there. There are very few carp baits that turtles, bullhead and channel cats won't eat.

private pond, it literally boils with carp with no feeding, i want the pond to be the best bass habitat it can be so i need to get rid of these guys and the catfish, the less competition for forage the better

Once again you may want to keep the carp in there, carp minnows are excellent bass forage, if they fill up on them the bass will get huge in no time. Plus you will always have some carp to catch as well.
