A new moon (no moon) keeps the fish from seeing their prey. My observation is to fish mornings during a new moon as they didnt have a great oppurtunity to feed all night and to fish evenings when there is a full moon. Just my hypothysis of course, hahaha.
Pretty much what I think too. If fishing at night; lights in the water with a new moon can be awesome fishing. Fishing tends to spread out more when the moon is full. Fish can feed all day and night. I find mornings after a full moon to be slow while mornings after a new moon are usually crazy. The water is popping all over the place from the top-water bite. I've also noticed the top-water bite is much better at night with enough moon to see by, than a new moon.
