Plan on visiting grandkids in Tyler next weekend. Thought I would take them fishing on Sat and Sunday. Could do eitheer CC or Palestine. Wondering if anyone could advise since I have never been on either lake. Not looking for anyone's hotspots, but would appreciate help on where to put in and general areas for fishing. I expect that fishing standing brush with minnows would be best.

Would consider a guide for Friday if anyone has suggestions and if one is available. Would be wife and myself.

IMHO, CC might be your best bet. On my last 3 outings on Palestine, nothing but dinks and 3 BIG stripers. Went this morning and it looks like the lake has turned over or is in the process. Checked 2 coves (Flat Creek & Ledbetter Creek) and both has a slick of foam/gunk on top and lots of trash floating (trash like mats of dead grass, reeds etc.) There have been some good reports the last few days on CC and for a guide trip, check Big Crappie.com and Guide Chuck Rollins

Cedar Creek without a doubt. A buddy and I went out there yesterday and came home with 40 something keepers. thumb
