The Korda thinking tackle videos are awesome, some very good information shared in them. Although most of the baits im seeing them use "across the pond" seem to be fishy based rather than fruit based like most of us use here. Im watching my way through the whole season 3 episodes 1 through 8 and im on episode 5 now and i recommend watching them to anyone who hasn't seen them yet. Lots of talk about rigs and baits and set ups, ive learned a lot so far.

Agreed. Excellent videos... However, using fish based baits and attractants here in the US will usually lead to catfish hell.

That being said, I think most of us have tried them at some point hoping for the same results as across the pond.

yep, i have the whole series and watched it probley 3 times, iv used some of the rigs they use and its just a pain. however i did switch over to a inline lead setup and i think my hookup rate increased by doing that vs a lead clip system.

Ive had equal results with lead clip and inline, but i used one of the hook setups they used and saw a noticeable difference. I also see them using a lot of hemp seed in there spod mixes which begs the questions where to i get some here in the states and how to i get by with using it without cops thinking im a drug dealer.

Just get the hemp seeds from one of the us carp tackle suppliers. It is sterilized hemp and not smokable ganja seeds so you will ok, although they both work equally well wink

Marshall Grain in FW carries hemp (sold as bird seed), but a 50-lb bag costs $99. I once sent 'em an email asking if they would sell it in smaller quantities, but I never heard back from them.

Jedds in Anaheim is where I used to get mine. Much cheaper for smaller amounts, although I used to buy it locally so I don't know what they'd charge for shipping. They're at least half the price of the cheapest carp suppliers.

Josh, I was told to boil them for 45-60 minutes until they start to break open. Then keep them in their juices and perhaps use the hemp-water as a wetter.

Does it go rancid quickly if kept in their juices like some birdseed I've had?

Man, that was the foulest smell I've ever encountered sick

Try burning birdseed while boiling it. Took me forever to relize the smoke was not steam. rofl

That stunk worse than my brothers 2yr old catfish chum!!

Ben, yes. Better to refrigerate or freeze it if you can't use it all in a couple of days.
