I'm sure having trouble finding fish at choke canyon. Is the lake level the problem or are there too many fishermen crowding the lake where the fish are? May be I need to fish up river. I have been fishing some grassy points in 3 and 4 fingers but only finding non-keepers.

try moving to some deeper water & get away from the grass. 8-12' of water either in open water over some structure or in the wood & throw some crankbaits or TX rig some Zoom Plastics & fish them deep over structure or flip them to the timber.

To be honest when first started fishing choke I was really intimadated by fishing the main lake.... I decided to break the lake down in sections and I felt comfortable up river and started there picking differnt types of cover/stucture apart and as I caught more fish I began to venture out to the main lake over time....

All I can say is put in the time out there to learn the lake, I spent days out there graphing and marking the lake and still end up coming back home skunked or nothing but dinks at times...

I myself have found choke to be a lake where if u have an area that is holding fish u must slow down and pick it apart until u turn them on, its painful to do sometimes but it pays off!!!! If ur crankin, try different colors, retrieves, profile of the bait, and angles that ur castin.... Fish some channels that swing next to points and flats that have timber on them, same thing with pond dams or a hump!!!!

Hope some of my mumbo jumbo helps ya out!!! keeps us posted how u do!!!!

The bass are working the ridges and are really piled up together in certain points with the bait fish. Once you find where they are holding along ridges you will be amazed by the sizes choke canyon is producing by average. I went with Ray Austin (Topcatfishing.net) and blew them out of the water all day long. We couldnt hook one under 6 pounds and had several over 10lbs. I am looking forward to going again asap!
