I do as well jesse works like a charm, although some times they want something with some kind of flavor. I also use unflavored to chum with and make my flavored maize stretch a little further.
Sugar and salt jesse works sometimes better then flavors Oh and with the chick peas add a can of tomato paste and make some real fancy red tasty baits works great if you combine them with the yellow corn

I add my ingredients not to flavor the maize, but to speed fermentation and so it doesn't smeel so bad cooking, Donny gave me that hint a long time ago. Now I can cook maize in the house if i don't sour it first.
