Fishing this last week has been excellent !! Had some good lure days and some good to great bait fishing days.
Twice last week we got them good on top waters busting loose on the flats in about 10 foot of water... The traffic has been extremely light during the week and when you find fish busting they will usually stay up for extended periods of time. Got some good fish on the lure trips also on slabs...using TNt 180's and even tried them big ole Moes kahunas.. I cant believe those things caught fish but they did !!
water temps have really fallen this week. Started the week seeing 86+ temps and yesterday was seeing 81 degrees. Wont be long till we get down into the 70's and then all he^^ will break loose.
Bait trips this week have been fantastic. getting 40-80 fish everyday in pretty short order. No huge fish but lots in the 4-8lb range. Two weeks ago we were getting alot of small fish and this week they have really grown up...many more big fish and some days havning to measure everything we catch. Hoorray for cooler water and air temps !!!!
Fishing/catching has been very good from daylight until about 10am when it really slows down...still can get-em after that but significant decline in action after mid morning..I have not caught a fish in the last 10 days in water deeper than 20 feet.. Fish are really roaming on the flats. I have been fishing the west end of the lake and havent been East of the islands in more the 10 days.
Bait is very easy if you know where to look (dont ask) Ive already given up my fishing hole.. cant give up my bait hole
But for those of you who are good at reading tween the lines you oughta be able to figure it out
Clue: Fish are in water less than 20 feet...
There now you know where the bait is

It oughta only get better from now thru the fall...but its pretty darn good right now

Thats the one ive been waiting for JD,your posts always mean two things in my household.1st Im either planning a trip up there or if it aint a great report im headed elsewhere.2nd Jd has taught me a valuable lesson with my wife,when i tell her "pack up the stuff we are going fishing again" Just be like a boxer when she throws stuff and BOB AND WEAVE!!! JD aint lying about the fishing. I had a trip with him this past week and we flat out wore them out. He kept saying that it was a slow start but by 8am we got into them and caught them non stop for the next 3 hours. The biggest fish on our trip was 26 inches but many over 20 inchers in the mix.

And those cabins are something else!! We stayed in the Sportsman cabin (small one) and it was just fantastic. My wife couldnt believe how nice it was and cant wait to go back next month.
Next month we'll need the big cabin as we will have my sons and daughters joining us so please tell me it is open that weekend we are fishing.

They will have me back up and on the water Tues but this weekend we'll be fishing out of a 28 foot tank.. big-ole harold speed boat...bet we'll still catch fish
