We kayaked today and did the horseshoe to 4th crossing.
I was fishing a crawfish colored bandit 100 for the most part.
I ended with 6 trout (noticed a few other followers), 7 bass (5 were 1+ lbs.), and one nice redbreast sunfish.
All the trout were caught below rapids that had a deep channel with fast water near rocks.
Specifically, fish were holding on the rapid above the put in for the horseshoe, the rapid just above the takeout for the horseshoe, below the downstream 306 bridge and about halfway between that bridge and 4th crossing.
Bass were in basically the same areas, but I caught a couple just around bigger deep rocks.
All of the bass I caught were mutts (guad x smallmouth)
Most of the trout looked to be in pretty good shape, which I was pleased to see.
All trout were CAREFULLY released without even taking their gills out of the water. I carefully removed all hooks with pliers and never actually handled a single trout.
