What are the advantages of a bow vs. transom mounted trolling motor? I do not have an outboard motor. Thanks...........

It depends on where you plan on doing most of your fishing from. If up front I would put it up front.

Put it on the front. You may have to loosen the head and reverse it for the motor to point the right direction but it'll make it lots easier to fish from. Then install a rudder on the back to make it track straight.

I put mine on front and installed a BigFoot switch screwed down on a small piece of carpeted plywood. This way I can slide the foot control around with my foot. The advantage with motor mounted in front is that sometimes in wind you have to leave the motor on constant and the handle is there in front of you.Ive noticed with my 10ft pondmaster in wind it wants to spin incirles if you dont have motor on low all the time.I think this is because it sits on 2 pontoons and with no keel effect from an outboard.

put it on the front and a power pole on the back. That would be funny right there now!

Put it on the front, its easier to pull a chain than push one.
