Come one, come all! Nothing but friendly competition, bragging rights, sharing of tips, tricks, and tactics. A great time will be had by all, or beatings will be handed out!

We are gonna have this little shindig at the Ponds of FM1378. This pond is one of the favorites over on the ever popular "Post your D/FW Hotspots" thread. From Bluegills inhaling spinnerbaits, to LMBs knocking out everyhting else, this pond has it all! Crappie, BGs(yes, Night Fever!), LMBs, cats, they are all in there somewhere, you gotta pull 'em out. From "Auminer's" post;

1378 is on the map of 'TFFers hotspots, and it's the northernmost tack on the map... it's just south of McKinney. I'm just going to go ahead & give full out directions right here too just to keep KnotatWork from having to write 100 PMs... wink

The easiest way to get there from the metroplex is to take 75 north to the 121 exit. It's the exit with the hospital, so just follow the blue 'H' signs. Go on down past the hospital and stay to your right. There's a fork in the road with a pretty sharp right hand curve, so slow it down. That'll put you on the many-named Hwy5/Greenville/Ave K. Follow Hwy 5 south for about 1/2 mile...past the closed down gas staion... to the junction with 1378. Turn left on 1378 & head east. About 1000 feet down 1378 you'll cross some RR tracks... about that same distance later, you'll reach the dip in the road, and make a left turn on Serenity Ct. By this time you'll see the pond, park anywhere and catch you some fish.

Here it is on google maps;

http://www.maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=country+club+road+mckinney,TX&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=30.048013,56.513672&ie=UTF8&ll=33.157529,-96.620593&spn=0.003871,0.006899&t=h&z=17

Yea its fly friendly...There is an easier way than posted above..just shoot 75 north from Dallas to Stacy rd. Exit and take a right on Stacy until it dead ends at 1378 aka Country Club Rd..Take a left on Country Club Rd and follow it down until you see a sign on the right that says Serenity...its right past Heard Wildlife Museum.

Hmm I am gonna have to check this place out. Sounds like it willbe a good time. Anyone know how big the pond is? I fish Bethany Lakes frequently and Stone bridge until I get chased off by the anti-fishing patrol.

We aren't doing anything wrong, yet. hammer And what you talking about Fairfield? that 180 miles in the other direction.

...whoops my bad - I meant Fairview.

As a bank angler - I've been run off of my share of ponds....It's always
in the back of my mind......

Looks like there's 7 or 8 of us planning to go - probably more traffic than usual. (?)

Awesome!
Fishermen friendly law enforcement officers are a good thing!

Does any one plan on fishing for anything other than LMB?
Does any one know if it's worth fishing for anything else? Are they good size?

Yea - kind of surprised with the turnout - I was out early - 6:45 till about 10ish.
No one.

Caught a few dinks - missed a decent one on a horny toad. I was throwin' a 5" Tiki worm and catching 5" fish......

I bet it was better later in the day - dang full moon!

Yeah i went out there Saturday from about 12-2:30, caught 3, all small, middle of the day i guess only the small ones were really aggressive, only one other guy was out there when i went. That was the first time I've been to that spot, really nice and easy for us bankers, but only a matter of time before they say its only for residents!!!

I think I was at the right place. It was off of 1378 in a subdivision that hasnt been built yet. There was some old abandoned railroad tracks nearby(the old HT&C). I was there from 3:30 till about 5:00 and skunked. Wondering whats up with all those geese with busted left legs. Thought it was kinda f'ed up.
