I have not been out in a few weeks. I did catch a few on CR rigged trick worms on wind blown points with brush in about 16ft last time out. With football starting up, I don't know when i will go out again, but would like to hear how fishing has been to keep myself informed in case I get sick one day. Of course I will still make practice.

Sometimes getting out in the fresh air with water around you is the only way to cure getting "sick".

The tournament stats are usually a pretty good indication: Conroe Bass

Not sure where Tyler and his dad catch all of there fish, but 3 SAL out of there boat this year tells me that they are a lot better than me. I have been without a pick-up for a few weeks, but the last couple of trips have been really tough for me. I am not sure where the fish went, but they are not where I have been catching them all summer. Out of desperation, I went to a few of the docks that always hold a few dinks and couldn't catch anything there either.

Had 3 2 weeks ago in 5 cast that would have went 20+lbs. I fished all day till I found them though. Just have to run and gun till you find them. Brush piles on points.

Thanks for the info fella's. With football season and two young kids, my time on the water is limited. I don't understand why Conroe is such a secretive lake. 200 views and only four posts so far. There are tourneys on many lakes and it seems there is much more information on those lakes being posted. I am not calling anyone out just wondering why there are so few posts about bass fishing on Conroe.

thats just the way conroe is, especially now that there is no grass. this time of year is all about brushpiles, and people don't want to share their brushpile locations.

I have heard the same thing from others. The ones who are consistent on Conroe know the brushpiles. Might be time for one of the SI units!

I agree about the brush piles. Before kids we would go to the Christmas tree lots the day after Christas and they would give us all the trees we could fit in the back of the trailer. Still cost over 300 in materials alone to sink them properly. I wasn't referring to having someone hand me a map of their brush, I was thinking more on the line of what baits (cranks vs plastic), color, depth, etc.

Thanks BigDaddy I think I will give it a shot. I am new just started using shakey heads on the docks there over the last year. I have not used them much in deeper water. I will give it a shot. Thanks again for the information.

Those brush piles might be good things, but I wish people would do a better job of constructing them. In shallow water, Conroe is just littered with tree branches.
