Anybody tow their boat with an expedition? I bought a low mileage used one today to use as a second car and will probably tow my basscat with it. I figure it will probably tow pretty well but just looking for opinions of this vehicle for that purpose. Do most of you turn overdrive off?
I have always towed with a 2500 dodge ram and it has a tow button on it. This new expedition has quite a bit of get up and go with the 300hp and I think its going to work well.
I tow my boat around and forget it is even back there (96 javelin 379se) but have towed cobra bass boats and skeeter iclass with it without any problem at all. never had any issues at the ramp, i guess since the weight is distributed throughout all the wheels unlike trucks. i always tow with the overdrive off as thats what it says in the manual. gas mileage sucks when towing though but thats ford for ya. 2005 eddie baurer ford expedition. great vehicle you got!
cool thanks thats what I was hoping to hear. Not too worried about the gas mileage either because there is no way it can be worse than my dodge. I have the hemi (wish I would have paid more for the diesel) and I only get about 9 towing with it so cool. thanks

I've towed quite a bit with my 2007. Won't pull much of a load in overdrive but even pulls my travel trailer pretty good with the OD off. It'll get the job done.
I've gotten 18mpg before pulling my boat but that's a 200lb inflatable on a 700lb flat bed trailer.
