well me and my brother in law go to a spot by victoria its about a 1 hour and 45 min drive from here every time we have gone we have caught like at least 10 gar ..last time we went it was 2 5 fters..3 4fters.. and like alot of little ones we lost a lost thought if any want to go out there just give me a pm and maybe if u want i can meet you somewhere in sa and i can go with u i have all rod and tackle all u will need is the gas and drinks ......ill show u the river its right under the bridge but people that go out there try all kinds of baits and dont catch them but we cat live shinner and sucker at my buddys tank and we teat them up like crazy ...so yea ill put u on those gar like i said all u need is gas and some drinks.....there has only been one time that we did not even get a bite hopefully it wont happen again.
