Heading out the door to visit family in an area between Granbury and Glen Rose off of FM 144. Will be about a quarter mile from the Brazos River and wanted to see if anyone knew if it would be worth the time to take the kids to the river to throw in a line or some place near that area. If so what should we fish with? Thought about hitting the W-MArt for some night crawlers.

nothing else resides in these rivers except drum and buffs. If you looking to catch anything for kid fun, worms would prob be best.

I use to fish this strech of river YEARS ago, before 9/11. Thats when they let us get into the river RIGHT up to the dam. It's filled with trees and high brush piles now.

Might get the occasional cat with worms too.

I heard they let you fish down there, but you have to park at the gate and walk all the way down there. Is that true? Man the would be one hell of a walk from the gate.

Buy some minnows. There are tons of white bass and crappie in the Brazos.
