Does anyone else use a spod? Ive got a rod and reel setup that would be perfect for spoding and im looking to try something new other than my usual method mix feeder fishing. Just kind of curious about the Do's and Dont's when it comes to using a spod, as well as some good spod mixes.

I use a spod as well.
I use a nice long heavy shock leader with 12lb main line. The smaller the main line, the farther you can cast.
When you figure out your swim and where you want to fish, cast your spod out then clip the line. Every time you cast (if you cast straight) you will hit the same spot. Load it up with pellets and seed. Very effective method if you don't have a way to boat out your bait.
Well i have a daiwa emblem-x 5000 spooled with 65lb braid paired up with a 11ft st.croix med heavy rod. I use it at denison dam and can cast a 4oz weight well over 100yrds, i figured it would be good to use as a dedicated spod rod while carpin. Ive been watching a bunch of korda movies in which they seem to use it alot and looks effective. Was just curious if it was used as much on this side of the pond.
