is it legal?

a buddy of mine recently told me that fishing with corn is illegal.

to prove to me why, he rigged up a line (no pole) with a hook and some corn.

after less than 2 minutes of dangling it in the water, fish were swarming it. i could see atleast 5 fish trying to eat it.

Im pretty sure its not legal to use corn but am not clear on this. Anybody know?

Absolutly legal....unless you are fishing somewhere that is limited to "artificials only". (ie: certain Colorado streams are "artificial only" or "flyfishing only")

Corn is legal for bait, however whole kernel is easier to use
than creamed. someone is trying to blow smoke up your leg.

very legal. But if you are planning on using it for perch beware carp and catfish love corn too and will yank a rod in the water in a heartbeat

Corn may be illegal in Europe... but don't quote me on that.

During stocked rainbow fishing in the winter and early spring, I always set out a rod with corn on it while I fish with spinners or flies for rainbows. I always set my kids up with corn on these trips. Never caught much else on it. I'vfe been fishing with corn for stocked trout for nearly 30 years, and it was a game warden who told me to use canned corn.

I always keep a tiny can opener in my tackle box for corn.

I've never fished with bread either, as one of the other threads talks about. But when I was a kid, fishing often in several of the ponds and lakes on a local golf course, we used to use bacon, and caught bass and catfish on it.

So his logic was that it catches fish so it is illegal???
