Doesn't look like it. Looks like they shut it off about 1pm yesterday.

Kattelyn,
Thanks for the info. Gonna head there tomorrow.
In reference to your post. I have used Slowride as a guide a little over a year ago. Dean is very knowledgeable and a blast to be around. I had a great time.
Thanks again,
Rick

You're welcome smile

I'm headed to that exact stretch in 14 days and 13 sleeps. Going absolutely batpoopy wanting to get out there. grin

I think I'm going to keep Slowride in the back of my brain and see how much is left after catching up on bills with the tax return. Who knows... I may just be able to pay for the whole trip out of that mad money alone grin

Anyone have any idea why the river authority has been doing these random gate openings? Is it for support for lakes down the chain or what? PK isn't high, so I wasn't sure of the thinking behind it. Just hope I am never caught out there when they do it.

I heard Granbury requested water and I would think all the lakes on the system would want some.

fishybiz,
It was great. I caught another striper. Caught a lot of nice largemouth too.
When are you guys heading back there?

I was in San Diego for a week and just returned. I'm itchin to go again but there's no way I'm doing that 16 to 4 paddle again anytime soon. It's going to be a paddle down/up for me. I'll PM you when I go again.

I don't think I am going to paddle at all anymore. It's motor time...

I'm in decent shape but the trip meant more time paddling than fishing. If you like the nice scenery (which I do), the paddle is great and we did it in 3 days/2 nights. However, I prefer to do a bit more fishing (just personal preference). As described in my last report, the wind was wicked when we went.

Are there any areas there to do a one day trip. Like maybe a 4-5 miles stretch of river.

Now a 6 hour ride for the 20 miles would be pretty exciting and I might be up for that. Of course I doubt there was any time to fish:)

Daveg99: as far as I know unless you know somebody who has some land there, you can only fish from the 16 down/paddle up or fish from Rochelles and paddle down/up and back.

Looks like a cool place. Got any recommendations on portage of the kayaks? Is there any outfitters that will drop off
