Live bait works if you throw it in the right spot!

Well they can't live on Plastic baits.. of course you can just like the fish in your Sig. You will find most folks in This Section are artificial purists. Mainly because most fish tournaments and since tournaments don't allow live bait they don't waste their fishing time with something that wont help them get better at Fooling Fish.

Here's an article on Shiner Fishing in Florida.. it will work in Texas just the same.

http://www.jimporter.org/articles/article41.shtml

Bass Eat: Crayfish,Insects, Shad, Bluegill/Sunfish, Crappie, Catfish and Minnows.

Yep thats the reason they catch so many big bass on trout lines baited with live perch.

large shiners and large crawdads are awesome for bass, used to use them alot from the bank as the crawdads were easy to catch.

I do it time to time. Made fishing a lot easier when my back was out, I could sit in a chair and watch a balloon swim around. Have not ever had a double digit, but had fun...

To me it is almost as exciting as topwater fishing...watch your balloon dart around, you can tell when they get have seen a fish...turn on the jaws theme song...and they disappear....fun fun

yes, what do they eat when we aren't catching them? lol.

i have fished at times when they will bite nothing but live bait.

i fish a small private lake around here during the winter, and we throw the cast net for shad, then let them swim freely. its amazing how big the fish are and the numbers of big fish are that you catch on them...

Yes breakdance

I remember hearing folks in East Texas say Trout line when I was a kid Circa early 60's .. but they could have been Yankee's? I have personally always called them a Trotline... unless I hang up a good fish in one.. then they are %#@*&^ lines.

If you require any further explanations... never mind. rolfmao

I like to change my fishing plan sometimes and catch some shad and see what I can catch....I'm really wanting catfish....but yesterday I caught two 5's and a 4...black bass, then something really strong ate my live/cut shad head. This fish fought as hard as a 15 lb red fish...really fun, but at the very end she gave up and it turned out to be an 11.5 lb drum!
