Has anybody had much luck from the bank on the south side of Lake Travis?

Any particular area that would be better than others?

Rookie and just want to wet a hook and toss a couple back......

haven't carp fished Travis very often but when I did we fished the edge of the flats where they meet the cliffs at Paleface and did ok. Nothing over 13# for us. There are some huge buffs there though.

but that is basically on the north side. Stick to Lake Austin or Town Lake if you want big fish

right, ive heard there are monters in inks, no proof though.
if i was fishing as north as travis, id be giving inks a chance before i even considered travis. too many small fish in there.

I have fished Inks and it was the same as travis. Although there is a pier at the state park where the carp come rolling in around midnight and they are thick. Most of the fish we caught were 10-15#

I still wanna fish Travis one of these days. Low boat traffic right now. Love to get some of those monster buffs.

I've heard muleshoe produced BIG fish but that was from catfish anglers that thought a 10lb cat was huge.
