a streamer works well. One cast and hang on. Stripers strike at about 75MPH. Good times.

The past week on Lake Buchanan, I have caught and released over 200 stripers from 20" to 30"....a ton of undersized fish, too.

All on topwater...using Zara Spooks and Pencil Poppers.

The schooling will only get better with the cooling of the water temps.

I would suggest you try below any dam, that is releasing water...

Good Luck.

Texoma right now thru the fall...bank access is kinda tough and probably wont get you near enough to surfacing fish.. but in a boat you'll likely have your choice of schools to chase around smile
Just pick the one with the least amount of boat traffic and you oughta do just fine

If your interested in a guide trip....Steve Hollenshed is an Orvis endorsed fly fishing only guide on Texoma. He is outstanding with a fly rod and puts people on alot of fish.
His # is 903-815-4197 if your ever interested

They used to school quite a bit around East Burns. I had a buddy that had the hooks straightend on an oversized pencil popper. That takes quite a fish. He landed several in the low 20s. We had 10-12s blow up right on the boat ramp once. It really frustrated people trying to launch. I have heard that late Oct,. and early Nov. they do well in NW winds at the day use area at West Burns.

i see see guys go to denison dam behind texoma and fly fish . They often do pretty good too(mostly small, but a lot of them). You should go give it a try some time when the water is flowing.
