As many of you are aware, I have been working for the past year to create a new tournament series in North Texas. This new series will be called the "Lonestar Tournament Series" and I wanted to provide a few of the details for your review. I will be posting additional information soon regarding the rules, payouts, and sponsors but here is a preview:
Tentative Schedule:
February 27th - Cedar Creek
March 20th - Eagle Mountain
April 24th - Ray Roberts
May 8th - Ray Hubbard
Entry fees will probably land somewhere in the $150 range. Anglers may compete as a team or as an individual (Anglers Choice)
Championship at either Lake Lewisville or Lake Texoma in the fall.
Alot has gone into the planning and we are trying to meet a need that is clearly there given all of the feedback on the various forums and tournament trails as well as surveys over the year. This should give North, South, East and West Metroplex anglers something they can compete in. We've chosen a solid list of lakes that will challenge anglers of all skill levels and provide some exciting competition. We've also kept the schedule to (4) lakes to be cognizant of the economy and to allow us to focus our resources on providing a professionally run series for serious DFW anglers!
We have some strong early sponsor participation and should be able to provide solid payouts along with some very creative AOY and BIG BASS incentives for this trail that others simply cannot offer.
We are currently working on our web site for the "Lonestar Series" and the site should launch in October. Any members that are interested in sponsorship opportunities please send me a PM.
