Each run is a boost of adrenaline! I love it! I can relate. I could't believe it when I finally went from catching either nothing or one or two little bass/sunfish/catfish/whatever to catching up to a dozen carp in a few hours' time. Great fun!

I'm with you on that Jeff. Where else can you go and have a reasonable expectation to catch an "average" 10 pound fish.
Thousands of bass fisherman fish all their lives and never get a 10 pounder. I know, been there done that. Luckily I have been able to crack the 10 pound bass barrier a couple of times.
My next goal is a 20 plus pound carp and or buffalo. Hopefully that will happen before the year is out..

Me too, lol.
Curt, you'll get them for sure. Do a lotta fishing at GV and you'll have that 20+ buff in no time.

I was there once Now it's only a blast *to me* to pull in 15 big fish in 6 hours. Unless you have a bunch of buddies on the bank. Gotta get to Emma!!!!!

catching small fish gets old after awhile, then you want big fish....

happy birthday Robert
yeah, i got a tast of the big fish, but its nice to be able to go out and take on some small fish in just a few short hours instead of a 2 day session for maybe a handful of large fish, either way is a blast!
cant wait to hit GV
and having a bank full of buddies makes any fishing better!!

I hope I can get out to grapevine this fall too. I wanna add a big carp/buff to my trophy list. Thursday I'm probably gonna go to cabela's to get a king kat rod since I saw the shipping would beef the price of a $25 rod up to $40.

J.B. Im headed to cabelas Thursday too. Gonna get 3 rods. 9 or 10 footers. Like the price on them versus having them shipped.

Yeah I will be hitting GV hard again once it starts cooling down. It's been way too long since I've been there. I'd like to pick up another long rod and reel before then. Anyone know a good 12 footer for under 80-100 bucks? My one long rod is a 2 3/4 test curve; I'd like my new one to be at least 3. Then I'll probably buy another Daiwa reel or maybe step up to an Epixor.
