I'm headed to Canyon Lake in the morning and was wondering which boat ramps are still open? I usually use the ramp at Potters Creek West. Any advice?
Thanks,
SteveO

Potters is still the best and at least a foot away from closing.
The lake is pretty much holding its own and I don't see it closing in the near future. We keep the boat ramps status updated at www.canyonlakefishing.com click on fishing reports.

With Travis closing up its ramps, this past saturday was a zoo. Lake is still pretty quiet during the week. If you can get a day off during the week you'll have very little competition.

Just got back from putting my boat back in the slip at Canyon Lake Marina. I was able to float off my 22' Deckboat. The office said they still had about 10' of ramp remaining.

They should still be open for awhile.

I didn't ask, but someone at work said they changed the price to use the ramp from $10 a week to $10 a day. Might want to call and check it out first.

I should be out there Sat and Sunday.

used potters two times last week. did not see any issues loading or unloading... but i got the "mean eye" look from people when i idled up or launched..they back there vehicle down the dual ramp to the water to go take a swim at the boat landing... i know its hot out but geesh... all kinds of parking too..

also both times after loading the boat up, there was people in the parking lot looking at their damaged ski boats from hitting something out on the lake. water be low. be careful.

Yeah Brewcat, its a plague out there with the ramp swimmers.
Last time at Jacobs,I thought I was going to run over one guy he was so close to my trailer. Once they saw the ol'stainless prop on the 250, they moved over a little.

You know how it is. Who wants to walk down the ramp, when you can just park on it??

Hammered down the last two night between Sattler and New Braunfels. Drove through it booth nights heading home. Looks like we had a decent rain last night on the upper end of the lake.

Rain here is good to water the grass. Need it in Boerne and Comfort to help out the lake.

There is still a couple ramps open and lots of water to fish.
Canyon is a big, deep lake.
The recreation boating traffic will slow down shortly.
Stop by and see Travis at the Canyon Tackle Box.
He will put you on some fish.

I put in at the Skyline ramp today and it wasn't too bad. It's only wide enough for 1 boat at a time though. I was mostly just running the boat but I did fish for about an hour and caught a few bass on mojo-wack flick shakes in about 15'.
