Well wouldn't ya know it. As soon as I finally get an opportunity to go to Port A the hurricanes start cranking up.
I'm scheduled to head down on Aug. 30 and be there for a week. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll stay out of the gulf.

Even if it does go to LA the whole dag gum gulf will be fouled up for at least a week afterward. Those storms throw a large surge and big waves off in all directions. That generally scatters the fish so fishing will suck mucho.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if it turned north and went up the east coast.

I went to Port A last summer after the last round of hurricanes and the beaches were a mess!! I tried to wade through the garbage to fish but is was like walking in a dumpster. Everytime I cast out I reeled in plastic trash of some sort. Lets hope it moves East.

Yep, definitely time to make everything portable. I was looking at my travel trailer jacks this past weekend. Definetly going to have to work on those before I can pull the camper to safety. Same for the boat trailer, need to work on the lights a bit. In other words, here we go again.

When we were getting ready for Dolly (last summer) I had to remove my jackstands. They were completely frozen up. I installed new ones. They were only $100. We didn't evacuate after all. We did evacuate for Ike which made a sudden, last minute turn to the north, otherwise it was headed for just to the north of Port A.
But yeah, now is the time to make sure everything is ready to roll at a moments notice.

WOW they have completely changed the projected paths.. all but a few are projecting it to hook up to the FL panhandle.

Bill is already a 'cane and Ana is projected to become one (when I last looked). Bill was supposed to run up Florida's gulf coast while Ana was projected to go farther south and enter the gulf.

Mike, im speaking of ANA.. Lastnight when I posted on here there was a projected path by "NOGAPS" that showed it hitting Galveston/north texas coastline. When I looked ealier it showed ANA making landfall closer to the FL panhandle.

Well that sux for FLA but good for TX. I hope it stays on that path. I just watched The Weather Channel and hardly mentioned Ana but went on and on about Bill. Maybe Ana will peter out over Cuba or something.

According to weather.com Ana died and is not a problem, Bill is going into the Atlantic and no threat to the gulf coast by their projected path for him.

Even if it does go to LA the whole dag gum gulf will be fouled up for at least a week afterward. Those storms throw a large surge and big waves off in all directions. That generally scatters the fish so fishing will suck mucho. We fished Port A the week after a Hurricane in August 2003 (the one that tore Port O'Connor up). The bay was OK, we caught some good fish, but anything offshore sucked bad.. The water was off color, and the fish(any fish)were far an few between. LP. Thanks for the tips in the other post, appreciate it
