Hey everyone,

I was lookin for an "out of state forum" here, but I guess there isn't one here. Anyways, just thought I'd show you a couple pics from my recent trip to Big Bear Lake.. these are the first carp I've caught here since moving back to SoCal, and these guys are really small carp (I didn't bother weighing most of them)... a really beautiful spot up in the mountains though, over 7000' elevation... was nice to finally get out and get a couple lines wet and catch a few.. we caught 5 total, biggest was 6.8#.

Anyways, here are a few pics and a video for you jesse...

Youtube video: (may not be fully processed on Youtube yet.. just uploaded it now)

Beautiful looking lake! Very healthy looking fish, even if they're not real big.

And who needs an out of state section, you know you're always welcome here! Hehe, you're one of us.

mostly I fished big game tuna when I lived in socal, also did alot of trout fishing during the winter, when I had spare time there was a little lake by my house that had some decent carp fishing.

Hey Starless--yeah, thanks for the welcome... I'll try to post things here now and again... especially if I hook into something great! Big Bear waters were super clear... great place... think I'll be heading back up there in the winter for a little snowboarding action~

and stephen... I just left Texas.. kinda sad about it because there are a bunch of great carpers there, especially on this forum... and you have there in Austin, one of the best carping spots in the country... Emma Long! Just search this forum for Emma Long and you'll see what I mean... definitely make a trip out there! and as for the trout fishing here in SoCal.. you mean flyfishing for trout? I once went up to Convict Lake near Mammoth, and that is a gorgeous spot... caught our limits of really healthy rainbows there...

Nice... we just moved near Porter Ranch/Northridge... not too far from Lake Casitas/Cachuma..

do they stock these lakes with rainbows in the winter? and did you just use power bait there? if not, then what baits??

thanks for info... I think I'll try when the time comes~

Yeah, they stock both lakes during the winter months on a regular basis, I am not sure what the web site is but they list the stocking dates for the different lakes, get to those lakes a couple of day after stocking and you are in for a blast.
