Golfers talk about "shooting your age." I'm just wondering who is the oldest person on this forum to "catch his/her age?" In other words, have you ever caught a carp with a weight in pounds equal to or more than your age in years? (I'm 45, so it hasn't happened and probably isn't going to, unless I go to the St. Lawrence or some paylake in France.)

I'm 14 , don't really know if I've caught one that weighs as much as how old I am. I have caught quite a few carp but don't really know their weights.

Yup. Bigger than my age by many, many years.
50lb+ Black Drum, and I'm 17.

I've caught a few carp in the 25 range.

Dustin, even as a newborn you haven't caught your age in carp.

Maybe That will change this winter! Got me a nice spot picked out that I know has Carp (photo proof). Some pushing 30+lbs.

This winter I hope to have some new equipment and a camera so I can take pictures of my catches. I also hope to take a trip down to tawakoni this winter to get in on the bluecat action.

I have not had a carp at 36lbs. I have had buffs larger than the so i count myself lucky

I've only got a handfull of years left to accomplish this feat (at least for carp, and barring a trip to Europe). I hope to at least have my first 30 by the end of the year.

well, i've had a 25lb blue cat!

But hopefully by the end of the year i will be
able to say i've had at least a 23lb carp and buff!

I think you mean blue cat , if you caught a 25lb channel then you most likely set a new water body record.

Have caught a ton over my age out of the Colorado River in Kingsland.

I caught a 30 this year at the age of 30 at Emma Long. Going to get tougher every year from here on out.

I have caught many carp over 30lbs and I am 30 so yep....I am good up to around 38lbs or 39lbs

But what counts is how old you are when you catch a fish that exceeds your age.

my pb carp is 29.7 at the time it was 2 years older than me.

a 37 at 27

gator gar can be caught at 100lbs fairly easy...and they reach 200lbs in Texas with regularity...sturgen haven been known to top 800lbs unless your Methuselah you should be covered!

man there r freshwater fish that weigh more than i do and i weigh 218 pounds

thanks it's one of my favorite photos as well, Al St Cyr took it and when we finally looked at the photos he took we where both like thats awesome....it was from lake Austin fishing to the left of the boat ramp, the preferred swim before we found out about the utility sites...I still like fishing down by the boat ramp in the bend in the river....great spot....

couple more from the session Richard with a buffalo may be still his PB that I played in along with 2 carp at the same time....everyone went to Neil's camp site for something and I stayed to watch the rods while they where gone I had to deal with 3 runs they showed back up just in time to help me...this is still one of the best looking buffs I have seen awesome color and I have yet to see any other like it.

no i just looked at my photos its close but not it. iv also caught tracys mirror.

caught a 50+ shark yesterday and I'm 13

this pic is a special one for me, it was my first ever ATC with mark and we places 3rd, and my first time to lady bird lake and first fish since getting out of the hospital, after nearly loseing my leg.

im 4lbs away from catching my age. and nice buff chris :P it was awsome to watch you land that 54, up untill then I had never even seen a buff caught in person.

I have done that a few times in my life
Last time was a 47mirror at the age of 47 but now I am 55.....it becomes harder and harder to catch the exact weight to match my age....still trying thou....personly I wont mind cathing a 65 at the age of 56

I'm working on a 52 pounder....

This is my favorite Zach photo......

Zach has good luck with mirrors. This is one of only 3 photos I have of Zach with a fish in a few years of fishing for carp. Is that the same fish? Looks like he's wearing the same clothes so I'm guessing we sacked it. Great example of Zach's bananna fingers.
