2nd Annual Lake Fork Crappie Tournament on Oct 3 & 4.
Check it out at www.lakeforksa.com to be held at the Minnow Bucket Marina on Rt 154.

A couple changes in the rules from last year. Dead fish can be brought in.

$90 for 2 days and $60 for Saturday only. Early entries postmarked before 9/25. Afterwards it is $100/2 days and $70/1 day cash or money order only.

In addition places 4-10 will payout based upon entries.

And there is now a youth division, Lady Angler award and big fish pot.

40% ($2400) is paid on Day one and 60% ($3600) on Day two for the first three places each day. If you are fishing day two your day one weight carries over to Sunday even if you are a winner on day one.

If you happen to have a really good weight on Saturday (and maybe won some cash) and did not sign up for both days you cannot then sign up for Sunday.

Or call 903-763-2191 for more info.

Thanks, Bruce

hmmm The Association web site still shows it to be a 1 day, Saturday 10/3 event with a $5000 payout. Any idea where the updated info/rules could be viewed?

I've contacted our tournament director to see about getting the website updated. I believe he thought that it was already done when he told me to go ahead and put the posts on the TFF.

It is going to be $6000 guaranteed plus more places paid based on a percentage. It is still 44 days away so we have a little time to pick up the fine points. Flyers/ entry forms are going out Saturday.

The sponsor? Like who is paying the payout or who is running the whole deal?

The Lake Fork Sportsman's Association owns the event and has done all the work in signing up sponsors so that you guys/girls/kids will have a fine payout for what?
TO GO FISHING. Which you might be doing anyway in October.

By the way you all know that Lake Fork still holds the Texas State record Black Crappie! And that fish has lots of cousins swimmin around trying to avoid gettin eaten by all of the big bass. LOL
Which by the way as you also know the state record largemouth was caught on a minnow by a..you guessed it crappie guy at Lake Fork.

If I am understanding rule #12 right, there can be more than 1 contestant in each boat as long as they keep their fish seperated from one anothers? I hope this is right because I like to have someone fishing with me in case of an accident or just to have someone to talk to. Let me know if I am readin it right.

Thanks

I think if you choose "Print Topic" from Topic Options and in your print dialogue choose pages 4 & 5 only you should get the entry form & rules & not much else. Do a "Print Preview" to make sure. Again, sorry about the way the form is displayed. hammer bang

I am going to try to make it. Hopefully the weather will be a little cooler by then. I am trying to talk a buddy into fishing it also so I will have someone in the boat with me, if I can talk him out of going bow hunting.

How many people entered the tournament last year?

I believe it was in the high 40's.

The amount of entrants has no bearing on places 1-3 where they will receive the guaranteed cash.

Like all new tournaments this is a building process.

Hey Bruce I have a question. Can another person fish in my boat as long as they are in the tournament and as long as we dont help each other and we keep our fish seperated?

Rule 12 refers to ALL persons in a boat must be registered in the tourney. I assume that means there can be however many folks in the boat as long as all are registered., and no sharring. angel

To make it easy to register, we have just added on-line registration for October 3-4 Lake Fork Open Crappie Tournament. Just go to www.lakeforksa.com and click on the instruction box just above the calendar. You can pay with credit card or Paypal or just print the form and mail it in. We hope to see you there.
