Sure.. question is can you make it back?
Honestly a 35ft boat with twin 250's should be a good start for a long-range tuna trip. I have seen numerous Sport fishing craft out fishing the floaters but seldom one under 38ft at night... and these are Robolos, Carvers or Trojans etc..
A 22 is a good 30-50 mile bottom and trolling boat... the twin 9's wont make much headway if you lose the main/ 225 engine. Also that big rake rail on the bow would be heck to follow fish around.
What ever you do just be SAFE!

It would make it there and back but you would have to bring hell of alot of fuel to get there and back. I have been at boomvang when a 23ft boat pulled up for the night.
That is one crazy looking boat LOL.

110 miles offshore? With that hull? NO.
I don't see how that little bay boat even floats with all that hardware on it, even if it is a Whaler. The boat in my sig is a 22' hydra-sports Ocean skiff w/ 100g fuel cap. avg 1.8 mpg fully loaded and everything is offshore ready. it will not go out past 50 nm, period. Be smart, the GOM is not kind to those who take uncalculated risks. but good luck......

not to belabor the point, but I just found this recent thread: http://2coolfishing.com/ttmbforum/showthread.php?t=225443 JMO, but I would consider this setup the BARE MINIMUM for a boomvang trip (note: twin 150's, 195g. fuel, offshore hull, ditch bag/raft). Add to this 4 guys with tons of GOM experience, being able to pick your days & go at a moment's notice, and many other uncontrollable factors ("luck".. ) led this to be a successful trip. facts of note are trip times, fuel burn, & avg speed. this example is the exception, not the rule. But it can be done, you just really have to have your chit together. The first step is a no-bs boat that is designed for long offshore trips

This is an EXCELLENT alternative for an EXCELLENT price! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25-Mako-O...FishingQ5fBoats searched "offshore center console boat" on Ebay & found it. It's closer, too. I'd own this boat if I could sell mine, but I'm partial to old Mako's tight lines, hope this helps in your quest.

I love the old Mako hulls, except for one thing...that notched transom at the motor(s). One good wave over the transom could be a problem.

Does anyone see the similarity of this: To this: Other than the clearance on the boat, they are both over engineered...

no way would I be that brave. thats too much weight up top. a good sideways roll, and you would be swamped. I bet you could run 40 miles out and fish a few shrimpboats though (with a good weather window). point is: i would not take it further than 40-50 mi out. and that depends on fuel burn as well. it might eat the fuel with all that wieght .... then you would have a 20 mile max boat.???

What in the world does someone need TWO kicker motors for??? ... and an aft-mounted tuna tower on a 22' CC just doesn't make any sense. Almost looks like the guy just wanted to see how much carp he could stick on the boat without sinking it! Looked through the extra photos and saw the bow-mounted fighting chair. Surely he remembered to put a kitchen sink someplace on this thing ....

it actually looks like it's designed to harpoon 1000# white sharks in 20 feet of water! either that, this guy just decided to bolt on every piece of boat junk he had in the garage. WTH is with the 3' bowrail & bumper racks, anyway? There's a 38' sportfisher somewhere that needs that tower. Im just sayin'....

just noticed the air horns, and the RADAR mounted @ forehead level on the "flybridge" BRILLIANT!!! can't beleive this used to be a 22' bay boat. maybe it's some super-blinged out flounder rig? from South Dakota. I give up.

OMG, its got 28 bids on it! There's gonna be some lucky winner!
Love the fighting chair up front.
He can't stay down with 3 barrels on 'em, not with 3 he can't!

good to know only 7 people bidding, w/ 2 "pushers" working their asses off it looks like. Honestly if you could get that boat for say 17g, and dump all the carp off it on ebay for 3-4g back, it's a smokin deal.
