Okay, so we've officially proven that, in the summer, prebaiting doesn't make much different at a pond like Ghostie.

So, if one does wish to catch carp in the days between Memorial Day and Labor Day, how does one accomplish it? Can one catch carp in rivers or large lakes in the summer, or is one merely wasting one's time? (How's that for grammar?)

The fish still feed in lakes and rivers, but they are in deeper areas. You need to find the deeper water with structure that carp look for like shelves, drop offs, channels

Night time. Nighttime, nighttime, nighttime.

fishing overnight at a lake like Grapevine can be very productive.

Or, if you've got to fish during the day, you wanna hit the deeper water. I remember one hot 100+ day, Donny and Mark fished the deep water off the cliffs at GV, and had 6 buffs over 20lbs in one afternoon!

So they're still out there, you're just better off fishing at night, or fishing the deeper water.

I dont think its fair to say that because it was just one week baiting up and you only fished it during the day when nights are much better to fish
The summer is not the best time but do you like to stay at home ALL summer and not fish.. I just cant I like fishing to much
Carp is feeding its just very hard to find out where and what And if you find out where and bait up there and fish nights when the temps are down you do catch them ..I am very sure

It was pretty easy at Grapevine not too long ago. I'm heading over there tomorrow afternoon/evening if anyone wants to join. (Left side of Scott's Landing where the deeper water is)

We ended up with 3 carp over 20# and a few in the high teens in the middle of the day on memorial day. we only prebaited the night befor. half a bag of range cubes, in a small area. havnt seen a carp in that lake since then so idk. kinda wierd. and usually when we go carp fishing its for the whole weekend. and not one sign or sighting of a carp not even at night. they just kinda dissapeared.
