it was funny I went out there on a whim and saw 3 fish before I hooked this one, I was yelling for someone to come and help me....read take photos for me and a cyclist heard me,,,,came down and took about 16 photo's for me with my phone and somehow he snapped this action shot that turned out...well awesome...this fish if I would have had scales would have been a record....

here are a couple of the others..this was a 6wt and I was targeting carp or buffalo...with a beadhead olive woolybugger and a fluorocarbon leader....at Murrell Park at grapevine at the public ramp striate down the road from the guard shack this is only my 3rd TOTONKA on the fly, the buff's are at least for me way more spooky and much harder to land then carp.... and to say I was excited would be an understatment....cast at this fish 2 times with out spooking it and then the 3rd cast it took the fly....Big thanks for that guy on his bike stopping to take these pics!


note the hand for extra backbone....when you have to use the hand for more backbone and your flyfishing you are sweating bullets hoping against hope you do not have a break off....I was using a 6lb floro tippet....


this shot was taken after the fish flopped from my hands and I was sure that I had lost it and was hollering to the guy asking if he got the pic for me.....I somehow didn't loose it and finally got this photo....



it was a very VERY good Thursday for me.....

one last photo with me trying to keep the fish out of a large submerged rock pile I went all the way down to my backing 3 times it was the fight of a lifetime on the flyrod at least for me.....I do feel saltwater calling....as I don't think it gets any better in freshwater then this.....

You better kiss that rod, after that!!! Nice fish, man!

Wow, I haven't seen that video in at least....Oh, I dont know.... 2 weeks maybe... LOL. That thing still brings a laugh after 30 years...
