Im trying to flavor a few batch of maize with some flavors i got from the bait stop. So my question is how much is too much? There are no mixing instructions on the bottle, so i was thinking maybe a cap full or two.

less is better, if you have a vacuum storage bag system put your flavor and maize in the bag and seal it up and let it sit...works great! also it depends on the flavor I haven't used that brand but some of them are very strong....

Yea they smell strong, the anise more than the others. I have no vacuum bags ill just have to let them soak. Zach if your fishing tomorrow i was thinking about going to the secret swim for a couple of hours. Im on a mission to catch a big girl, 5 to 8 pound carp are fun on the ultra light, but a 20+ is what im after.

Depends on the potency. I reckon those are pretty potent. Best way to find out is by trial and error.

Maple flavor off the grocery store shelf is my favorite...

also on flavors, I have caught more fish with plain ol maize boiled with garlic and salt and brown sugar and red pepper.....in the summer leave the garlic out...at one time I did some and vacuum sealed it with Tabasco and caught a bunch of fish on that....

Capsicum that is found in red pepper is like a drug for carp....also the seeds from green pepper and placed in a food processor and used in bait are very effective

if your really serious and want to make your wife really really love you vist your local aisan grocier and get some canned squid(fresh is better if they have it) and place it in a blender with some plum flavor but not to much plum and hit HI and place the nasty stuff in your bait....great in the winter and for big fish...if you can't do that go to pets mart and get Krill its koi food and use this....not as good but it works. I have said to much....with the tournament series coming...these old timer secrets should be kept to my self wink

Still not as good as "Geisha Surprise" flavor boilies hehehe. Though...now that inspires me to make a Plum Geisha.

What are you using for plum flavoring anyway?

Im going to try the chili powder next batch, as well as experiment with some other flavors. The chili powder seems like it would be good, ive been doing some research on it and the carpers in the uk speak highly of it.

This is why ROBIN RED is such a good bait
Robin reds main atractors are red pepper powder and paprica powder

Plum is a very popular 'under the counter' flavor you know, but I believe Zach was the first person to request it specifically. We used to supply 2 US boilie makers with plum flavoring too!

Now we only do it by special request for special people laugh

Seriously though Plum is used in many of the top Euro flavors.

Great flavor on it's own or mixed with other flavors, including fishy ones....... shocked

It really depends on the flavor used. I do not know what flavor Andy is using to make his up, so I suggest an email to him to be certain.

Some commercial carp flavors are so diluted you could pour a 6 oz bottle into a bag and your maize would still come out smelling of maize. frown

We use extremely high concentrate flavors, most of which are very strong at even 3% dilution. (The recommended dilution rate by the manufacturer), but these flavors are very expensive and also some are hazardous in their concentrated form.

Let's put it another way, the first person to know what flavor you have bought from us (After us) is the USPS delivery guy, no amount of packing can hide the smell! smile

lol i use chili powder in my mix

as for my maize i use a Cajun seasoning

for the spices, and you can also get the

cajun boiling bags too for craw fish and stuff

if you want to get a nice spice on your maize!

it gives you an asortment of flavor instead of

just chili powder

Hehe, the three 60+lb buff and 34lb mirror recipe?

For some reason I love that flavor as well, usually add a little spice to it. Not much for a human to pick up but enough for a carp to notice...or a catfish often enough lol.
