Hit up Lady Bird today after work for a few hours. Baited a few handfuls of corn when i got there, and settled in. 2 hours or so without even a nudge, so i started walkin around tossing some plastics.
First fish waited until i was no where near my poles and tried to rip the pole holder out of the ground, got off by the time i got over there.
Second fish came right at 7, landed that one and bam, its a new PB for me. I had no scale or tape, but it was my best freshwater fish to date.Got quiet again for a bit.
Last fish came as i was leaving, had already put up the first two poles and was headed tward the last one when all heck broke loose. When the fish hit i thought the pole was gonna snap. I grabbed hold and thing almost pulled me off my feet. The fish made a total of 6 runs, took over 10 min to land and had to have assistance from two passerbys. I wish i had a real weight on it, and its bowed in the pic, but it stretched from my manboob area almost to my knee. It wouldnt even fit in the net right. OMG, im still shaking. Was a great day, bite was slow but sooooo worth it!
The fish really started crashing after the last fish, but i had already told the ol lady i was headed that way. Just wow. Ive had a bad run of luck when it comes to catchin as of late, needed that little pick me up!
