$169.99 here:

http://www.haddrellspoint.com/product/shimano-baitrunner-btr6000d-reel.html

$189.99 here:

http://www.haddrellspoint.com/product/shimano-baitrunner-btr12000d-reel.html
[I added this link after dutch leo pointed out that the above link was for a smaller version of the reel Zach posted]

Looks nice!

The bigger reel holds 550 yards of 12-pound line (mono), so if you want to spool up fully with 50-lb braid, you could buy 1500 yards of Power Pro at the regular price of $339.99. smile

By the way, the 12000D model weighs 30 ounces.

I realy like the shimano bait runner and they are expensive
But mine are 15yrs old, never seen a drop of oil and they are still perfect
So whats expensive? better pay a bit more and never worry about wear then spend less for a reel and buy a new one every few years

Yes I understand the logic of pay now save later but not every one has a spare $150 to throw down and get a new reel.

yeah I have had both shimano thunnus and shimano long cast....both excellent, I sold them both to people on this forum and really regret letting the thunnus reels go the long cast are great just a bit to large and heavy for me....I will be checking these out in September....if I get a job... smile

for now my okuma's that ran 60 each are taking a beating and seem to be working great.

i have a set of shimano xta12000 techniums whick i love to death, a set of long casts i havent used yet, and a set of shimano spearos 4000 which have taken a beating slip fishing but still smooth after being droped in the lake 3 times. shimano reels are the best.

Yep, I didn't even notice.

Here's the bigger one:

http://www.haddrellspoint.com/product/shimano-baitrunner-btr12000d-reel.html

and it sells for $189.99.

If you guys have a shock with your prices never come to europe for a reel because it cost about 30-40% more
There is a shimano pike reel ( bass) fos spinning very small that cost 1500euros... thats about 2000 dollars
I think its called the shimano diana ( not sure)

Your right richard its looks a lot like it
The spool is gold on this one ( the old one was silver)
This one has a different grip and more round edges
But maybe this one has more ball bearings? I dont know its hard to see on the picture

thunnus has 6 this one has 4 I am sure this one will be graphite as the thuni is all AL-I-Mineeum or aluminum if your Americanized wink

Thunnus is and will be a tank....a reel for a life time....unless you sell them frown

So this reel is a cheap thunnus that is expensive! lol

Daiwa emblem pro all the way!

Better line lay, faster retrieve and smoother drag.
Also very much cheaper.

If thats true( no doubt it is) then we dont have the thunnes at all in europe
We have the american baitrunners 4500 Small ones
and the 6500 the bigger ones and we have the shimano big ( thats the name) And that should be 8500 but its not called that way
They are graphite bodys ( black)and have aluminum spools
I always thougt that they where the same as the thunnes ( just a different name)but they are not
But they are very good to invest And zach NEVER SELL OLD STUFF(except your 30mm rolling table lol)
I sold the old splitcane carp rods in the beginning and they are worth a fortune now iI have to cry if I think about them
