Will Seafoam have any adverse effects on late model, low emission, computer controlled engines? Saw in a thread regarding perceived lifter noise at start-up where someone suggested it. Just wondered whether or not it would wipe out O2 sensors, or have any other adverse effects?

ive never seen a problem with it. just make sure its diluted enough if you put it in the tank. and if you run it through the intake, do it a little at a time.

Follow the instructions on the can. I'll run some through my truck every couple of months since it only gets driven on the weekends. I use to run a bottle of Techron but it's pretty expensive. Seen where some have run about a half of can through the vacuum line that goes to the brake booster (disconnected of course) as stated very important to only let a little at a time because there is always a danger of hydrolocking the engine. Mine's never been carboned up that bad to require doing that practice. I pulled the throttle body off and cleaned it and the elbow a couple of years ago and prolly will again when it cools off (winter maintenance). So I would just run it through the tank every so often as a regular maintenance practice. I've seen threads where guys are even putting it in the gas for their outboards, I use the Stabil for the ethanol in mine but don't see any hurt in using Seafoam in it too.
