Use cut shad on the bottom. Can't really go wrong with that. Location wise you need to find your own spots. Nobody will come on here and give you cordinates to there secret honey hole.

Fish are moving a lot but the action is hot.

Cut shad on the bottom has not been the ticket for the most productive trips of recent as far as numbers go.

caught 3lb blue off my dock 7/29/09 on bar-s hotdog and #4 bronze hook in 18inches of water . hahaha . so, to answer your question- right now im seeing the thermocline is affecting the fishing ;thats what ive been reading on this forum . i would find some windy point with access to deeper water. fishing dies if i dont have wind. my dock is number #9 from the north/western side of the lake.... good luck.. oh btw it was CPR fish...

update. 7/30/09 caught 2 blues and 1 gar. 14# and 10# blue . all fish caught on Bar-S hotdog in 18"- 2ft water . on the dock again.

You will go to the opposite end of the lake as the dam.

Is Creek Harbor Camp a good place to launch up north. Last weekend was the first time on EM. Guess where I launched.....WestBay Marina. Boy did I stick out like a sore thumb!! I was in an 87 skeeter boat that has seen better days. That is a party ramp. Everybody was in such a hurry to get out on the lake. That ramp is sooooooo steep! I almost bailed.

Creek Harbor is too shallow right now. If you're going to the other side of the lake use Lakeview Marina.

I'm heading to the lake and will be there until tomorrow afternoon. If anybody needs help call me.

the dam is on the south end the river is on the north end....

update 7/31/09 - lost two fish . probably 6-10 lbs . oh well . changed hook and caught one before i realised storm rolled up . again still catching blues on Bar-S hot dogs in 2ft of water on northern end of lake. if anyone comes up here becareful and stay to east side of lake. water toooooo shallow on western side . as for the pattern . use whatever bait you want, they'll take it. just besure to place your bait up current or up wind to allow the scent to drift over a wide area.

we usally launch from peden road boat ramp its is $10.00 and have been having alot of luck with chicken liver on north end of lake

Walnut, Ash, and English creeks have water moving through them. Use your FF to find bait. Find bait find fish. Weather right now is iffy so be carefull out on the water. Once the thunder starts rolling every drunk out there will hightail it to the ramp and run anybody over in his way.

Has anyone had any luck fishing for catfish on Eagle Mountain Lake?

They are biting, had good trips lately. Have to move a lot run and gun fishing but putting good numbers and size fish in the boat. Exceptionally big channel cat for EM. Blue cat bit has been slower but still steady.

Client caught a Jr Angler Channel Cat record last week came just shy of lake record.
