Caught 20 catfish this morning, largest was 2.5 lbs and smallest was 1 lb. Used live/fresh dead shad I caught with my net. I used a 2500 Shimano spinning reel and a medium rod to make it more fun on light tackle. It sure is cooler on the water then on land. I fished 7:30am until Noon.

I fished in and around docks most of the day, anywhere the fish were in shade.

Cool. I've thought about crappie fishing under the bridges in my yak, but wondered about the boat traffic. Especially on the weekends.

Hey GatorGar, where do you park at Cedar Creek when you launch your yak? I'm not too far from there and that sounds like a good close trip.

Sorry I took so long responding. I have a boat ramp by my house I go to and I actually walk my kayak to the ramp and launch. Lately I've been getting up at 5am to catch shad, shad is the secret. Any time you want to hook up let me know

Guitar Bob, If I were you I'd Crappie fish under the docks on the south side of the lake. You can launch at Don's Port and go south and hit those docks. I usually fish for catfish with live or fresh dead shad but have caught crappie on occasion at the docks on shad. Good luck. I also play a little guitar too by the way
