Used to catch quite a few "mudcats" out of a half dozen private lakes in SE Texas. Taste about the same as channel cat if clean properly.

I have some friends for Lousianna that call flatheads mudcats. It drives me nuts!!! I have to tell them that flatheads EAT mudcats...that is where simularity ends to me.

Look at the tails... If your friends are catching fish with a 'V' tail they are channels... if they have a square tail they are mudcats... thumb
